Murrieta schools educate over 23,000 students yearly, across 20 campuses. Our schools consistently rank among the leading schools in the state and were recently rated as the best in Riverside County. Great schools need facilities that keep up. However, many neighborhood schools are almost 40 years old; some have leaky roofs, deteriorating plumbing and outdated classrooms and labs that are in urgent need of repairs and upgrades. Many of our students are in portable classrooms that are now over 35 years old.  
 
With Murrieta's warm temperatures for much of the year, many students learn in classrooms that need HVAC upgrades, participate in PE and assemblies in gymnasiums without air conditioning, and spend recess on playgrounds with limited shade. Measure M will help modernize these facilities to create healthier, more comfortable learning environments.
 
A vote in favor of Measure M is an investment in the future of Murrieta’s students and the schools that have helped make our community one of the best places to live and raise a family. Measure M will provide locally controlled funding to repair and modernize aging school facilities, helping ensure our students continue learning in safe, modern environments while preserving the high-quality education and strong property values our community depends on - all without increasing the current tax rate.
